Derk Krieger is a very experienced neurologist with special interests in cerebrovascular disease, stroke, headache, neuromuscular and movement disorders, neuroimmunology, brain plasticity and interventional rehabilitation procedures.  

Prior to moving to Dubai, he was Professor of Neurology and Chairman of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark and was Associate Professor of Neurology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for 10 years until 2008. He continues to hold an adjunct professorship at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.  

Dr. Krieger studied in Germany and then undertook his Fellowship in Neurocritical Care from Tufts University in Boston, USA. He held several academic positions at UT Houston and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio. He is a Fellow of the European Stroke Organization and a Fellow of the American Heart Association and remains actively involved in clinical research and teaching.
